Request a Bike

To request a bicycle for someone in financial need living in Connecticut...

Please provide the following information:

  • Your name
  • location
  • contact information
  • The gender(s) and age(s) of the person(s) receiving the bicycle(s).
  • The type of bicycle you think they would like - mountain bike, BMX style, road bike with skinny tires, bicycle needing training wheels, etc.   We may not be able to provide them with exactly what they are looking for, but we try to do our best.

Please email Dave Fowler at call our Wheelhouse at (860) 388-BIKE (2453).

Each bicycle will come with a new helmet.  Bikes For Kids will do the best we can to work with your request in a timely manner.  If we are able to provide a bike to the person(s) in need, arrangements will be made for pick up at our Wheelhouse in Old Saybrook (20 Research Parkway, Old Saybrook, CT  06475) or in some cases we may be able to drop them off or meet you somewhere.  We have a limited volunteer base and do not have the ability to personally deliver the number of bikes we give away each year. Thank you for understanding.

If you are requesting a large amount of bicycles, please be specific with what organization you represent and the reason for the large request.

If you live outside of Connecticut and are in need of a bicycle, we recommend you contact local Lions Clubs, Elks Clubs, Local and State Police Departments, Social Services, or other organizations that may be able to provide one or direct you to an organization that will.  If you live close enough to CT and you would be willing to drive to us, arrangements may be made to accommodate your needs.
